Hello from Japan publishes practical, first-hand guides about traveling in and enjoying Japan, written for visitors from outside the country. Articles cover trip planning, transport, food, etiquette, seasonal events, and the gear and products that make a trip smoother.

Who writes it

This site is run by Takuma, a Japan native currently based in Japan. Living here means noticing, day to day, how much interest in visiting — and in Japanese food, tools, and everyday goods — keeps growing among people abroad. This site exists to turn that ordinary, on-the-ground knowledge into guides that are actually useful: the kind of thing that's obvious if you live here, and surprisingly hard to find if you don't.
